September 2, 2016, 16240 – 3D Sound Labs
The demo, running on an Android smartphone, plays a 4K, H264 compressed, 360° video along with a compressed 3rd order Ambisonics audio stream, to illustrate what the delivery and viewing of 360° video content will be in the near future.
3D Sound Labs is proud to have developed this demo with Viaccess Orca, a global leader in the protection and enhancement of content services, combining its state-of-the-art 3D Audio rendering technology with Viaccess Orca’s existing mobile VR player for pay-TV markets.
At IBC, visitors will enjoy in VR a jazz concert by Tony Allen recorded live in Paris by sound engineer and 3D audio pioneer Eric Münch.
3D Sound Labs Ambisonics scalable solution enables VR content distribution on a large range of platforms. Unlike object-based formats, it is particularly well suited for real-life, recorded VR content. Higher order Ambisonics formats bring true-to-life audio experience and better spatial resolutions that are not achievable with existing B-format based solutions.
Join us at IBC, 9-13 September 2016, at RAI Amsterdam.
